What is CCDRA? The California Coalition of Domestic Referral Agencies, Inc (CCDRA). CCDRA is a non-profit mutual benefit member organization.
Who are CCDRA Members? Small businesses owners of Domestic Referral Agencies in California who refer Independent Domestic Workers to private homes.
Is a Domestic Referral Agency the same as a Housecleaning Company? NO! A Domestic Referral Agency is an Employment Agency. Domestic Referral Agencies register Independent Domestic Workers for referral services. Cleaning Companies hire employees for private home and business cleaning.
Why are Domestic Referral Agencies a good solution for Consumers and Workers? Domestic Referral Agencies minimize the consumer’s costs while maximizing the worker’s income and reducing the Underground Economy. It’s a win-win-win! Domestic Referral Agencies attract Workers who choose to work through an Agency in order to increase their income and receive a 1099 at year-end. Without Domestic Referral Agencies, these Workers would more likely work as “private” housekeepers and contribute to the Underground Economy.
Why are Domestic Referral Agencies a good choice for entrepreneurs rather than Employee-based Housecleaning Companies? Domestic Referral Agencies operate as an Employment Agency / Domestic Referral Agency, performing only administrative tasks, without the burden of traveling to different job sites. A large percentage of Domestic Referral Agencies are minority / women-owned businesses!
Why does CCDRA conduct Workshops? To expand awareness, increase membership and provide networking opportunities for agency owners! We provide members and potential members with a vast amount of information concerning the laws and procedures that regulate Domestic Referral Agencies.
Would Domestic Referral Agencies exist in California if not for CCDRA? The simple answer is NO. CCDRA members have been instrumental in protecting the Domestic Referral Agency Model by getting legislation passed to standardize our industry, as well as successfully defeating harmful legislation from being passed into law. CCDRA monitors legislation by checking Assembly and Senate Bills as they are introduced, and alerting members to bills that could negatively impact their business. CCDRA unites small businesses together in order to protect us all from harmful legislation that threatens to put us out of business. Together we can, do and have made a difference.
Why should all Domestic Referral Agencies be members of CCDRA? CCDRA is the only organization dedicated to providing resources to California-based Domestic Referral Agencies for the purpose of education governing this industry. CCDRA membership offers Domestic Referral Agencies a “cost-effective”way to access the pertinent information required to operate a Domestic Referral Agency correctly under State and Federal Law, as well as other valuable general business information.
